A Brief History Of Windsor Sacco

Windsor Employees Co-operative Savings and Credit Society is a democratic financial institution formed and funded by the members themselves who fully own and operate it according to the Working Policy with an aim of improving their social and economic growth. It’s a continuous institution and entrance is Voluntary. It operates on a principle of equality, equity and self help. Registered as No. 6264 under the Co-operative Societies Statute of 1991 and Co-operative Regulations of 1992, its fully affiliated to Uganda Co-operative Savings and Credit Union Ltd (UCSCU) and Wakiso Union. It was formed in 1997 as a small scale financial Project on a democratic concept of human development to pool together and loan each other at fair interest rates. It began as a group of 25 members and upon the achievements attained by these members, other persons opted to join and the members started growing and by 28th December 1998 it registered as a legal savings and credit society. At that time it was targeting employees of Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel only. As the membership kept on growing, non-hotel employees, public servants, and members of the business community opted to join due to the financial services rendered. The Board of Directors resolved to open up membership to the general public, which was accepted by the Annual General Members ‘Meeting of 2002.

SAVINGS

We have a wide variety of savings products that we offer to our membership. These include normal savings,sight deposit savings and special savings. With competitive benefits of our products,our members enjoy fair rates and quick service.

SOLAR PRODUCTS

We provide durable solar products at afford prices and through credit facilities. We offer Pico,Boom,Home 60 and Pro 400 Products from SUNKING.

LOANS

We extend economic loan facilities to members at affordable interest rates and within a member’s capacity to repay. These include; Emergency Loans, Quick Cash loans, School Fess loans, Salary Loans, Business Loans and Asset Acquisition loans.

WELFARE

We operate a welfare scheme to which every member contributes Ushs 10,000/= per month to meet a number of things including,Death,Hospitalization and Wedding.
